yes, used the copper permatex sealer. also, you are suppose to let it dry for 24 hours before firing up the scoot. I also snapped the bolt on the exhaust clamp. swapped the it for a beefer one from my other exhaust. that area is a weakness.

this Li is officially rally worthy. after this past weekend at Monkey Run in Seattle, it's good to go. it appears the previous air leak was a root of much evil. pulled hills nicely and ran at WOT fairly well, with several starts and stops. Only flooded it once all weekend. maybe user error ;)

after blowing 7-8 tail light bulbs since September, I finally figured out the issue on the LI... you need a working speedo bulb to help carry the load. oddly, a 12v 3w speedo bulb for a 6v system. my original speedo bulb quit working last august.

amazingly, I had a spare, everything is now peachy keen :)

Actually, all my bulbs are available locally at Brooks Cut Rate auto parts in the Glenwood. The are also a great source for 2T and gear oil.

yes, the lone flooding issue on this ride was user error. I have learned to NOT drain the float bowl to avoid flooding. this caused the float to stick and allow gas to flow freely into the cylinder and onto the ground. for normal purposed, I turn off the tap and allow it to run about 5-10 seconds before shutting off
