all mounted up
was a bit tight to make it fit
clears the side panel by about 2 inches

I used a dirt bike pre filter as an intake filter

used two 90 degree elbows on the gas pipe to remove the sharp bends

threw in the previous idle jet, upped the main 8 points and used the huge CGL needle (@ 3rd clip) that came in the carb.

I'll be searching for better air filter options but this should be fine for the near future carb tuning fun time

Broomstick race exhaust installed...!!

a good bit of "massaging" to get it on...
- filing exhaust flange to clear studs and barrel
- sourcing longer tail pipe bolts and case allen head bolts for bracket
- heat wrapped the header pipe / high temp sealant
- repacked the tail pipe with nicer packing material (original stuff was not good quality)
- powder coated the whole pipe crinkle flat black
- re riveted the boom stick logo

the stand is hitting on the right hand engine side
would melt if I did nothing

my plan is to cut off the right side of the stand
and then bend the left side out a little / shorten it as needed
it was getting in the way anyway when starting

this in effect shall make it a left side stand

Installed...

had to
- shorten the manifold rubber to lift carb up and inward slightly
- shorten the LTH elbow so uni pod sits lower and not up against the gas tank

Carb fuel line changeup
to get the fuel line better routed = shorter and more direct
this shall be only temporary
I'll be installing the carb on the right side of the engine hopefully by spring

as it is now

jetting updates for my data base

10-10-14
38 idle jet
CGM needle 3rd clip
135 main jet
Air screw is 2+ turns out

temps
- under 400 F CHT
- under 1000 F EGT

10-15-14
38 idle jet
CGN needle 3rd clip
135 main jet
Air screw is 1.5 turns out

temps
- under 400 F CHT
- under 1025 F EGT

*** Shall up the main jet to lower the CHT @ WOT and this shall in effect richen up the 1/2 to 3/4th range a little. Idle is going to go up due to plug was too white on last check up. ***

10-19-14
38 idle jet
CGN needle 3rd clip
138 main jet
Air screw is 1.5 turns out

temps
- under 400 F CHT
- under 1025 F EGT

*** After a chat with a pal in CA.... he told me to test out the 4th clip on "richer" needle to cool down the 1/2 throttle range ***

10-21-14
38 idle jet
CGL needle 4th clip (to richen up the mid range progression)
138 main jet
Air screw is 1.5 turns out

well that didn't work
was way too rich all the way up to 3/4th throttle then lean @ WOT
4th clip is not working right now...
might in the future...??

I did a plug chop holding WOT for a 1/4 mile
pulled plug
way hot and white
NO GOOD

10-22-14
38 idle jet
CGL needle 3rd clip
145 main jet
Air screw is 2 turns out

temps
- under 300 F CHT
- under 1100 F EGT

** A bit smokey... must be too rich. I'll be checking the main crank seal asap to rule out the possibility that the top end is burning gear oil. Hope not...!! Am also thinking that the clutch should be checked out since there is a bit of slippage when going WOT **
