Made some quick progress on the driver's side door. I bolted a chain to the hinge plate and used a come-along to pull it back closer to where it should be to get a better door fit. :) It's not perfect, but much, much, better! 8)

Had the day off yesterday and today, and so, being inspired by Will's single cab, I got out there and did some stuff.

Worked on the nose again. Smoothed out the welds, sanded the shit out of it again, rust stopped it, primed it, sealed it, and let loose with Rustoleum Sage Green. (Keeping things cheap and simple for now).

It's not perfect, obviously, but it'll do for now. :) I'll keep at it one panel at a time, and I'll start putting in new brake lines, one line at a time.

I considered it. Looked it up on thesamba.com and it turns out it's a raging debate, but no one has seen an actual M code for it. Musta been a dealer or owner thing.

But with a little bit of elbow grease, this is what I ended up with. (Whew, it was a long day!)

I've got some more metal working ahead of me. But I'm looking forward to it in a weird way. I'm gonna need to learn to make some of my own replacement pieces, but I'm down for the challenge. I've got some steel and some patterns to make up some pieces like the jack points and outrigger supports.

I also picked up some tires. I'm planning to run some 175 65 R14's all the way around and lower it a couple of inches. Gonna order up some beam adjusters and soon as I can afford it!

P.S.- A big shout out to Bring Recycling! I'm using a metal shelf that I bought for 2 bucks and will be able to make more than a hundred bucks worth of parts with it. 8)

Also a big shout out to Trent for loaning me his metal brake! :D

You can see my other pride and joy project in the pic above. As soon as I can pay it off, I'll get the GS dipped and work on that too!
