paint is done
flat silver to hide the body imperfections

shall be moved back this week to the No Name Garage for engine install
then she shall be in my hands to finish up all the little things w/ the help / advice from my VW guru Jeffery...!!

the seats are being done by the Mobile Upholstery shop out on 1st

almost there...!!
now I need to get my outdoor cover made so she can be dry all winter (not enough room within the garage) = along my house north of garage small door

drove the SC around the area near The No Name Garage and then down to the window place...
- drive ratios are way low compared to anything I have ever driven = under 55mph for sure
- brakes work as good as they can for drums = not that great
- shifting shall get easier

would be fun to return the milage on the tac to 00000.0 if I can for this reincarnation

let the madness begin

The spare tire in a single cab fits in the treasure chest. The oil sump style air filters were messy, I always went with something aftermarket. Sounds like you are going to be spending some time and money on The Samba!

Spare can go down there too in the stock location but I might build up two spares... one under and one on front of cab...

Miles said a foam / K&N filter would be fine

driving the SC home soon to be safe and warm while I am gone for a family trip...

bought some car dollies today from harbor freight that shall make working on / storing SC better due to my limited garage space

I have this idea for a privacy tapestry that shall be hung in the garage door opening...
shall help to make things more private when door is opening / closing

Singlecab Factory Accessory SO13
Image

pretty cool water tight cover for the SC VW's...!!
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... id=1033632

I bet that we could make one out of a panel van shell... cut out the floor, keep everything from the driver divider backwards... way cheaper than the asking price on this factory accessory...!!

since I have never actually seen one, the chances of finding one are pretty nil. you could easily copy it. go as light as you can, maybe an aluminum frame. that's pretty cool.

of course
just a cool dry idea for one wet winter in the future...

pop it on for winter months to have a nice dry flat bed / storage area

I am thinking the back would hinge down to be a ramp or up to be a awning when opened...
I like the awning idea

If you need a new striker plate for your door, here's one pretty cheap and close:

And this is what goes on that shock stop thing:

after market air filter installed w/ spacer I made up...
Image

finished up the engine compartment seal (keeps the fresh, cool & clean air separate from the exhaust side of the engine), added the missing oil tank breather tube to the air filter which is good for the environment they say and a bunch of hose clamps all over that were missing to keep all lines where they need to be...!!
